Ever since leaving his small hometown in Nayarit, Mexico at the age of 17, it was always Luis Omar’s dream to own a restaurant. For over 20 years he worked hard at perfecting his culinary craft, until he put his dreams on hold in 2006, deciding to take a job in construction to better support his growing family. Fast forward to 2020—with the help of friends and family, his dreams were reinvigorated and MBOSQ was born!
 

MBOSQ isn’t a traditional word. The “M” in MBOSQ stands for Moreno, our family name. Growing up in our household, we were taught that family always comes first. Through thick and thin, family will always be there for you when you’re down, and praise you when you’re up. For us, family extends beyond just the Morenos; friendships are equally as important. Although we might not share a name with you, you’ll always be treated like family.
 

The “BOSQ” in MBOSQ is a play on the Spanish word bosque, meaning “forest.” Both Nayarit and Oregon are surrounded by dense forests, mountains, and rivers. We incorporated it into our business name the love that we share for the natural landscapes of the two places we call home. BOSQ serves as a reminder to never forget where our roots were planted, but also appreciate where they’ve continued to grow.
 

MBOSQ aims to break down the barriers that limit Mexican tradition, culture, and food by presenting you with a Mexico that is more than just sombreros, mustaches, and jalapeños. Our logo and branding is a reimagination of Nayarit’s official seal, revamped to capture important aspects of Oregon, Nayarit, and our family. MBOSQ creatively combines the old and the new to redefine the look and feel of Mexican cuisine.
